Think beyond what’s gone before.
There couldn’t be a better time to join the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. For one, we have a new name. And with it, a new expanded remit at the forefront of the government’s mission to help every part of the country build back better after the pandemic.
The work you do here will impact everyone. Whether it’s the homes we live in. The councils we rely on. Or the communities we’re part of. It’s your chance to play your part in the global recovery. And level things up for all areas of the UK. Right here in the North East.
Who we are
More about us
Only when we create great places to live and work, can we give local people the tools to shape what happens in their area. That’s why we’re focused on building better, safer, greener and more affordable homes. Ending rough sleeping. Helping local government become more resilient. And raising productivity so every area can self-empower.
During the pandemic, we were at the heart of the national response. Supporting communities. Helping to save lives and livelihoods. Yet while we’re proud of what we achieved together, our work has only just begun. Through a vast array of programmes, projects and initiatives, we’re collaborating across government to help Britain build back better than ever before. Meaning it’s the perfect place to build an even better career.
Vision, values & culture
Our vision, values and culture
An open, inclusive approach is vital if we’re to build a more levelled-up, joined-up country. Help us create our vision and you’ll be part of an environment where everyone’s listened to. Expertise at every level is important too. As is empowering our people to make effective decisions.
It’s an engaging, connected place, whether you’re in the office, or working from home. So if you want to play your part and help us lead from the front, you’ll fit in perfectly with our collaborative, can-do culture.
